Biography
I am a Solicitor originally qualified in Pakistan but now working in Chester.
I am the General Secretary of the Chester Asian Council and through my community work could see therre was a neeed for high quality advice in respect of immigration law. So I set up my own practice specializing in immigration and asylum work.
I now work for a wide range of Clients from all different backgrounds and communities advising them on their rights, telling them honestly when I do not think they have a good case and doing my very best to get the right results when I think they do.
Experience
One of my main areas of work relates to visa applications and appeals.
This year I was successful in helping 3 Chinese children under 18 who had been separated from their parents and whose settlement applications to come to the UK to join them had been refused. I took their cases to Appeal and drafted an Appeal that was so strong when I sent a copy to the Embassy fin China they decided to allow them in without a court hearing
I have also been successful in using the human rights act to gain permission for for a number of illegal entrants and overstayers to gain permission to remain in the UK
