Experience
I have recent experience in litigating complex employment claims, including discrimination claims on grounds of racial equality and disability (as well as many unfair dismissal cases not involving discrimination). I also have recent experience advising on Compromise Agreements, as well as advising businesses on their Employment Law duties.
My understanding and knowledge of Employment Law is being extended further through my studies at the University of Surrey where I am working for an MA.
I have had conduct of very substantial personal injury claims which settled in the recent passed for £400,000 and £325,000. These two claims demonstrate the complexities and skills required to prove substantial special damages losses in personal injuries claims.
The larger of the two claims involved a Swedish national. She was a young woman. Obtaining the evidence to prove her potential losses took several years and was hotly contested.
The other claim involved a self-employed business man who owned a car repair business. He was several years behind with his accounts which did not reflect the real value in his business.
In both cases the insurers argued that the Claimant’s contributed to their own injuries. The first because she was a passenger in the car driven by a person convicted of drink driving. The second because he turned into the path of a car overtaking from behind him at around 100 mph. In the end both settlements ignored these pointless disputes!
