Biography
I qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and specialise in Matrimonial and family matters. I am a member of Resolution which is a national organization of family lawyers and was responsible for the creation of YResolution West Midlands in 2007. I was Chair of that committee from 2007-2009 before handing over the reigns to the current incumbent. I enjoy helping families to resolve issues between them but where necessary I am able to assist clients who get involved in complex disputes and appear regularly in the High Court to do so.
Experience
Since joining Coley and Tilley in 2006 I have acted for a wide range of clients, including ‘high net worth individuals’. I am experienced in preparing pre-nuptial agreements which are often appropriate for such persons. With the current changes in judicial thinking to take such agreements into account or even to recognise them it is becoming increasingly useful to consider entering into a pre-nup where circumstances make that a sensible option.
I understand the sensitivity required in considering such agreements with Clients and also the need to ensure that all parties are properly advised to ensure the agreements are enforceable.
Clients who enter into a pre-nuptial agreement should also consider creating or revising their wills not least because on marriage any existing wills become void.
