Biography
Like all the Challinors team, I am here to help. At Challinors we support our clients, listen to their needs - and understand and solve their problems, whilst communicating at every stage and keeping those all important costs as low as possible.
The corporate team in the West Midlands has recently worked on the merger of a long established and respected local accountancy practice with a larger national firm, the sale of a highly ranked telecoms provider to one of the leading providers in the field, and provided advice on restructuring solicitors practice.
Amongst my most recent not-for-profit work, I put in place the legal documentation for the Trust and Trustees of the First Steps Appeal, for the family of six-year old, who suffers from cerebral palsy. The documentation governs the operations of the Appeal and how the monies raised by it are used. The aim of the Appeal is to raise sufficient funds to get a sufferer to America for an operation which is not available here in the UK and which could result in him being able to walk for the first time.
Experience
As a Partner at Challinors, I specialise in Company and Commercial Law, as well as Charity and Not for Profit sector work and have done so since qualification in 1974. This specialism covers business transactional work, general contractual/commercial arrangements, other general and corporate advice and all aspects of charity advice. I am experienced in mergers and acquisitions, banking, corporate finance, in addition to franchising, licensing and intellectual property exploitation.
I am the leader of the Challinors team, which is dedicated to supporting businesses, of whatever size and in particular SME's, providing them with direct access to the firm’s range of legal services. We are able to support organisations with debt management, fraud and asset recovery, litigation, dispute resolution and mediation, professional negligence, commercial property matters including leasing, rents, sales, purchase and development projects, corporate governance rules, health & safety and environmental issues through to business development grants. As such, I work alongside Simon Bond, a Partner in the firm’s employment team, and Peter Lowe, Partner in charge of the litigation/dispute resolution team.
